  • 6. What environmental sensors can be connected to the strips?

Depending on the model, temperature, humidity, vibration, smoke, flooding, door opening/closing, motion sensors, and others with normally open or closed contacts can be connected to the strips.

  • 7. How many Environmental Monitoring Devices (EMD) can be cascaded?

Up to 8 EMD devices can be cascaded to a single SMART PDU strip (DN-PIM-12IEX-1F32A-H and DN-PMS-12IEX-1F16A-H).

  • 8. What do the hydraulic-magnetic circuit breakers provide?

These breakers provide an additional layer of safety by reliably disconnecting circuits in the event of overload.

  • 9. What mounting options do the SMART PDU strips offer?

The strips can be mounted in a server cabinet thanks to the included sets of brackets, allowing for various configurations.

  • 10. How does the Power Share function work in the SMART PDU strips?

The Power Share function allows for the continuity of power and network connection of the PDU even in the event of power loss to one of the units. By connecting two PDU units with a standard cable, power is shared, ensuring uninterrupted operation.

  • 11. Can I remotely manage the SMART PDU strips?

Yes, SMART PDU strips offer remote management over the network, allowing for monitoring and control of power from anywhere, which significantly facilitates infrastructure management and can reduce maintenance costs (DN-PIM-12IEX-1F32A-H and DN-PMS-12IEX-1F16A-H).

  • 12. What are the system requirements for managing SMART PDU strips?

A network connection and an internet browser are required to manage SMART PDU strips. Thanks to compatibility with network protocols and support for standard browsers, the management system is accessible on most platforms (DN-PIM-12IEX-1F32A-H and DN-PMS-12IEX-1F16A-H).

  • 13. Do SMART PDU strips support sustainable development?

Yes, thanks to precise monitoring and energy management, SMART PDU strips contribute to optimizing energy use and reducing the carbon footprint of data centers, supporting sustainable development goals.

  • 14. What reports can I generate using SMART PDU strips?

You can generate detailed reports on energy consumption, energy efficiency, event history, and alarms, allowing for a better understanding of data center operation and making informed operational and strategic decisions.

  • 15. What types of devices can I connect to SMART PDU strips?

A wide range of IT devices, including servers, network devices, storage systems, and other critical devices requiring uninterrupted power and monitoring, can be connected to SMART PDU strips.

  • 16. Can DIGITUS SMART PDU strips integrate with data center management systems?

Yes, all models of SMART PDU DIGITUS offer integration with data center management systems via the SNMP protocol. Selected models can also be integrated via the API protocol and SNMP. Examples include the DN-PIM-12IEX-1F32A-H and DN-PMS-12IEX-1F16A-H models.

  • 17. Are DIGITUS SMART PDU strips compatible with various types of power sockets?

Yes, SMART PDU DIGITUS offers different versions with various types of power sockets, such as standard IEC C13, C19, type E, and universal IEX sockets.

  • 18. What are the typical functions of a SMART PDU?

Typical functions of a SMART PDU include remote power management, the ability to monitor energy consumption at the port or outlet level, power scheduling capability, temperature and humidity monitoring within the facility, and alarms and notifications in case of power failures.

  • 19. Do the strips allow for energy consumption monitoring at the outlet level?

Yes, for example, the PDU strip DN-DP-H-1-8C13 has this functionality. Meanwhile, the strip DN-IP-V-2-18E allows for monitoring energy consumption at the whole strip level, i.e., at the input.

  • 20. Is it possible to set alarms and notifications in case of exceeding specified energy consumption thresholds in DIGITUS SMART PDU strips?

DIGITUS SMART PDU strips do not offer such functionality directly. It is possible to count energy. Using the SNMP protocol, data related to the amount of energy can be retrieved, and in the supervisory management system, alarms can be generated in case of exceeding specified energy consumption thresholds.

  • 21. Do the strips support monitoring protocols such as SNMP, Modbus, or HTTP/HTTPS?

Yes, the strip model DN-IP2-V3-18C13-6C19 supports these protocols.
